What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. We are starting a new topic “The Plants” this month. This topic will allow children to get knowledge of their natural environment. Children will be learning about how plants develop and grow, its parts, care and significance in our environment. Students will be also participating in a hands-on experience “Green World” related to germination, crop and harvesting.

This week children will be learning about the parts of the plants. They will be able to identify and describe the basic parts of a plant which are the root, the stem, the flower and leaves. They will also smell and touch different flowers and fruits.

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme, so children can continue acquiring knowledge through fun experiences.  Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.

  • Monday - Large Group Setting

    • Observe a plant, touch it and provide a brief description.   

  • Tuesday - Small Group Setting

    • Create flowers using circle shapes.   

  • Wednesday - Small Group Setting

    • Play with sensory trays with soil.

  • Thursday - Small Group Setting

    • Observe fruits and smell them.

    • Count fruits and provide a brief description of them.

  • Friday - Large Group Setting

    • Take a walk in the yard and observe different plants using magnifying glasses.

Year-Round Activities

Student of the Week & Travelling Pet

Please make sure to sign up your child for these wonderful activities as these 2 are the children favorites! Both activities allow every child to make and share memories with their classmates.

For the student of the week activity, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school, so they can share with classmates.

As for the Traveling Pet activity, the classroom pet will spend a whole week with the child and family. During that week, parents and the child will have fun together with a new member of the family while providing love and care to the pet. Our pet loves to read at night, go to the park, visit museums, give hugs and kisses! However, the pet does not like taking a bath as he can get sick. Parents and child will enjoy bonding time and making new memories and the child will be very excited to share all the memories with his/her classmates. In their week parents and the child should bring to school a collage of pictures and a brief description of what they did with the pet. Parent should make sure to place the collage inside the travelling pet bag.

Friendly Reminders


  • Wash your hands and your child’s hands when entering the classroom and help your child to find his/her seat.

  • Read your child’s journal, blogs and Friday Newsletter.

  • Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.

  • Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.

  • Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.

  • Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in the cubby for the day.

  • Label all bottles and food or lunch box that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and place in the kitchen. If any of these items require to be refrigerated, please put it inside the refrigerator.

  • Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

Weekly Theme: Knowing Africa

Week: From 03/26/2018 to 03/30/2018

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. We will continue with our fantastic theme “Hola! Around the world”. This week children will learn everything about Africa, i.e. their culture, geography, traditions, cuisines, music, etc.

They will also get familiar with African natural resources and its fauna with the aid of flashcards and images. Children will be also getting familiar with the animal sounds and try to mimic them. They will keep rehearsing their performance for our International Party too.

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme, so children can continue acquiring knowledge through fun experiences.  Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.

  • Monday - Large Group Setting

    • Learn about Africa.

    • Observe visual flashcards of animals, traditional costumes and touristic places.

    • Create water or rain sticks with paper towel rolls.   

  • Tuesday - Small Group Setting

    • Take a walk inside the classroom and pretend to be animals from Africa.

    • Mimic animal sounds.   

  • Wednesday - Small Group Setting

    • Play drums while following the music beat.  

  • Thursday - Small Group Setting

    • Listen to animal sounds.

    • Listen to African music while learning about African musical instruments.


We would also like to invite a parent who is from any country in Africa to join the classroom to share a story about your country! To participate in this activity, please let us know.

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. We will continue with our fantastic theme “Hola! Around the world”.

This week children will learn everything about Europe. Children will explore and discover about their culture, geography, traditions, cuisines, music, etc. Children will listen to stories about how the Eiffel Tower was built and get familiar with traditional costumes.

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme, so children can continue acquiring knowledge through fun experiences.  Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.

  • Monday - Large Group Setting

    • Learn about Europe.   

    • Observe visual flashcards of animals, traditional costumes and touristic places.

  • Tuesday - Small Group Setting

    • Build towers by color.  

  • Wednesday - Small Group Setting

    • Build a castle with geometric shapes.  

  • Thursday - Small Group Setting

    • Pretend play: participate in dramatic play and pretend to be Medieval Knights and Princesses.

  • Friday - Large Group Setting

    • Participate in a cooking activity with all the classmates. Children will have fun preparing a delicious pizza.  

    • They will also participate in a hands-on experience of Medieval Times. Children will play castle and visit castles and European kingdoms.
