  “Como funcionan las cosas“

Dear Monitos Parents,

This month we will be talking about the objects around us and how they work in order to awaken the child, not only basic knowledge, but also to stimulate interest and help them to create new things. Children will learn how various elements and artifacts of daily life can generate some scientific experiments and logical comparisons that can stimulate their cognition, critical thinking, and analytical work.

The children in Monitos class will enjoy singing the song “Como funcionan las cosas”. Parents, please encourage your child to listen to this song at home too. It can be found on our Sff! CD.

“Somos Artistas“

Dear Monitos Parents,  

This week we  are talking about some of the great painters, including: Van Gogh , Da Vinci, Pablo Picasso.  We’ll look at Picasso in depth and observe his works Starry Night, Mona Lisa, including abstract paintings that we’ll emulate.

Dear Monitos parents
This week we will continue talking about the media and the best policies for children, such as not talking to strangers online. Also we will write a letter where children choose to whom it will be delivered.

“Viajo y me comunico por mi ciudad“

Dear Monitos Parents,

This week we're talking about our theme, “Means of Communication.” These include such items as the telephone, radio, TV, and internet.

On Monday, we’ll start turning the classroom into a garage to have our pretend car show. We’ll walk by the school on Tuesday will discuss the various forms of print media, such as: newspapers, magazines, letters , books, etc.

Wednesday we’ll talk about radio and TV and Thursday we’ll address the mobile phone. Finally, on Friday, we will have a puppet show about Martin Luther King.
