Week: July 4th thru July 8th
Weekly Featured Theme: Reading & Story Books

🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Monitos Parents,

This week we will learn to be little readers. Children will read their favorite story books and we will talk about the characters in the book. Reading has a significant number of benefits and it will enable children to get knowledge, stimulate them, help them with vocabulary expansion, develop analytical skills and improve focus. We are scheduling exciting learning activities that will allow us to continue strengthening motor and cognitive-sensory skills such as dramatizing favorite characters of story books on Thursday and participating in a Princess and Knights Dress up Parade. Children will also enjoy outdoor fun in our Splash days on Thursday and Friday.
Thank you once again for all your support and for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life.

Thank you, Miss Karina.

📄 Materials for Special Projects/Activities

  • Bring a favorite story book for Story Book day (see holiday and upcoming events section for dates).
  • Have your child wear the outfit of their favorite character of a story book for Princess and Knight Dress up Parade (see holiday and upcoming events section for dates).

🔆 Friendly Reminders

  • Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellant should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a ziploc bag.
  • Bring swimsuit, towel, water shoes and a plastic bag for your child on Splash days.
